We will begin the 2015-2016 school year at Becker College, 24 Roxbury St., Worcester, MA on August 4-7, 2015. Each day will commence on the quad (between Weller and the Health Science Building) at 7:50 and dismiss at 4:10 on Aug. 4-6 and at 12:30 on Friday, Aug. 7th.
Becker College is one of the oldest colleges in the United States, having been founded in part by John Hancock and Samuel Adams. Becker educates about 2000 students per year across both of its campuses: Leicester and Worcester. The Leicester campus is the oldest, going back to 1784, while Worcester campus began much later in 1887. They merged later under the name Becker College. Becker has a range of majors and minors, but is especially known for its Video Game Design – for which it is ranked 5th by US News - and Pre-Vet programs. Becker College has been a huge supporter of our vision for College Week, and our primary contact, Dean Betsy Fuller has been instrumental in helping organize this event. Thank you!
The College Week theme this year is “Growing to College!” which fits nicely with our Growth Mindset philosophy of learning at Seven Hills. Each morning, a convocation will be held on the quad and our scholars will hear from Becker President Robert Johnson, Dean of the College Betsy Fuller, Superintendent Krista Piazza, and other school leaders who will inspire scholars as they go through their week and look forward to the year of learning together in our community.
